The 2024 Ocean Eight Rosé is crafted in a refined, dry style that captures the freshness of the Mornington Peninsula’s cool climate. Elegant and vibrant, it offers a perfect balance of delicate fruit and crisp acidity.

Aromas of wild strawberries, red currants, and citrus blossom lead into a palate of fresh berries, rosewater, and mineral undertones. The finish is refreshing and savoury, making it a versatile wine for summer occasions, alfresco dining, or simply enjoying a chilled glass with friends.

This 6-bottle pack is ideal for entertaining, gifting, or stocking your fridge for warm days and relaxed evenings. Stylish and expressive, the 2024 Rosé reflects Ocean Eight’s dedication to producing wines of finesse, purity, and contemporary appeal.

The Rosé is made using the traditional Saignee method. Saignee means 'to bleed' which is a great descriptor for the winemaking process. When our pinot Noir arrives at the winery we put the grapes through our destemming machine with the idea of maintaining whole berries for the start of the ferment. This is when we bleed off any excess juice from the vat of berries and we put this juice straight to barrel. As it has spent minimal time on skins this ensures and beautiful light pink tinge of colour. The juice then goes through barrel fermentation and is stored for 6 months on lees.

The quality of the fruit from 2024 was fantastic regarless of the incredibly low crops. There is beautiful acidity and freshness in the wine and looks very similar to the high end Rose from Province.

Vietnamese Perfection this June

This is the simplest and one of the most delicious food wine matches that you can do. Pork and Fennel sausages on the BBQ with a cold glass of this wine. The fresh acidity cuts through the juicy fats of the sausages and makes the most amazing combination of fresh and game flavours.
