Coda

Coda

Open now for a few years Coda has settled in as one of Melbourne CBD\'s best modern diners. It is brash and loud but feels very comfortable.
The food is Asian in inspiration with very distinct leaning to Vietnam.
Make sure you have plenty of the single serve starters wrapped in betel leaves.
These tempting morsels are seafood treats such as prawns and crab livened up with a bit of spice.
Oh, and you simply have to try the tempura of Moreton Bay Bugs, a great dish.
The mains offer a small choice of very tasty curries and stir fries whilst the desserts  are a little more European in origin.

The staff are friendly and well clued in on the food and wine. If in doubt put yourself in their hands but it is damn near impossible to choose badly.
Some dishes are extra spicy and they will warn you in advance rather than surprise you.
The wine list is not huge but comprehensive and yes they do offer an Ocean Eight wine, the new release 2011 Pinot Gris which would make a great partner with the starters.
